About Susan
My name is Susan Rooke, and I live on a square of green, peaceful country in Central Texas. I write award-winning poetry and fiction, and you can find selections of my published writings, along with information about my three fantasy novels, under the “Works” tab.
My husband Glen keeps a few cattle on our place, and our favorite relaxation in the evenings is to sit outside watching them go about their cow business. They can be surprisingly hilarious.
I take way too many pictures of sunsets, sunrises, the moon, the scenery and our lake (see the “Photos” page), and have to replace too many exclamation points with periods. I value goofiness probably more than I should. Thanks to Jules Verne, since childhood I’ve had a deep-seated belief in Architeuthis dux, the Giant Squid. Proof was a long time coming, but the vindication is sweet! Still trying to dredge up proof of lake monsters, but so far I’ve caught only catfish. Because I have an abiding faith in the magical unseen, I write about angels and demons, monsters, faeries and dragons.
They’re as real as you want them to be.
